Prosper Keating began his media career as a motorcycle magazine writer on the avant garde monthly Silver Machine, produced by the maverick publisher Mark Williams. Keating was also the magazine's advertising salesman. He subsequently worked for leading industry titles as well as launching an offbeat biker lifestyle monthly entitied Fast Classics with Colin Schiller, another British publishing industry bad boy. Today, Keating's professional CV includes senior staff and associate editorships on magazines like 7 POST, its spinoff 7 POST ART, Vogue Hommes International, Vogue, Paradis and 7000. He was also in charge of Special Projects at French Condé Nast. His articles and fiction have been published in various leading reviews and newspapers, including The Culture Crush, Fashion Unfiltered, Paradis,  Vogue, Numéro, Graphis, Esquire, Nylon, Sleaze Nation, Loaded and Numéro. He has contributed to broadsheets like The Daily Telegraph, The Times, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Australian, Welt am Sonntag and their supplements. Barbet Schroeder’s César-winning documentary Terror’s Advocate was based largely on a long treatment written by Keating in collaboration with the subject of the film, Jacques Vergès. Keating has also worked with publishing houses like Schirmer Mosel, 7L Steidl and Kehrer. His biographical texts on Peter Lindbergh, Paolo Roversi and Steve Hiett are considered definitive by their subjects. His portfolio of branding and communications consultancy includes some of the world’s most distinguished fashion houses and luxury brands and he has worked with the best art and creative directors in Fashion and other fields. Keating is the author of a number of books, short stories and screenplays in English and French under his own name and a couple of pseudonyms.
